Fundraising and Sponsorship
The Project Cost
Our new building project has cost us approximately $7.0 million in total to complete and while we are a long way towards raising that amount to complete the project we are still about $0.5 million short of our target. We are pursuing every avenue of sponsorship, charitable and government grants in order to raise the necessary shortfall to complete the full fitout of the building. We have raised loan funds to complete the entire fitout of the building and we therefore need to continue to fundraise in order to reduce debt levels as quicly as possible.
To have to carry such a debt would be a shame for such a new building for such an historic and iconic organisation that has served the City of Christchurch and Canterbury for almost 100 years through its Veterans' welfare and support charitable trusts and its more general financial support of our youth and our city community.
How Can You Help?
Everyone in our Christchurch and Canterbury community is invited to participate in either of our Wall of Remembrance 500 Club or our Rebuild Our RSA 100 Club fundraising projects. All funds raised in these projects will go directly to the building fund to help reduce our funding shortfall. All donations received are tax deductable and donation receipts will be issued. You do not need to be a member of the Christchurch Memorial RSA in order to participate in these appeals.
Wall of Remembrance 500 Club
To participate in our Wall of Remembrance 500 Club we are inviting members of our community, individuals, families, groups, organisations and businesses, to contribute a sum of $500.00 each to our "Wall of Remembrance" fund and to nominate a family member or close relative who served in our country's Defence Forces that the donor wishes to commemorate. That service man/woman does not need to be deceased. The serviceman/woman's name will be inscribed on the eastern wall of our 'Remembrance Plaza' to perpetually record the committment and sacrifice of that person to our enduring freedom. Should the donor wish, their details will also be recorded on a "Wall of Remembrance" donors' honours board that will be permanently displayed within the new building.
Rebuild Our RSA 100 Club
To participate in our Rebuild Our RSA 100 Club we are inviting members of our community, individuals, families, groups, organisations and businesses, to contribute a sum of $100.00 each to our "Building Project" fund. Every donor of $100.00 will have their details recorded on a "Building Project" donors honours board that will be permanently displayed within the new building to mark the generosity of these donors.
